How do you sharpen MAC eye kohl (soft eye liner)?

when i try to sharpen it, the wooden part that the actual liner is encased in sharpens, but the very soft kohl liner will not...it just kind of falls off or squishes, i guess because it's so soft. are there any tricks that anyone knows to sharpen it?How do you sharpen MAC eye kohl (soft eye liner)?

Try cleaning your sharpener. Usually when that happens to me it's because there is liner stuck in the sharpener which tends to catch on to the point causing it to break. It could also be that the liner's moisture level. Try sticking it in the fridge as one user suggested.
